New
Acrylic Paint Demonstration and Workshop
http://www.chromaonline.com/interactive
A Chroma employee will introduce
our members to the NEW slow drying Atelier Acrylic paints. Samples
of the paint will be given out to the audience and members are
encouraged to participate in trying out the product for blending,
feathering, edging etc. The paint even allows touch-dry paint
to be reworked, revealed, shaped and blended. Artists who want
greater control over their working and drying time, artists
who are challenged by the fast curing time of traditional acrylics
(plein air, portraiture, mixed media, representational, large
format artists), as well as oil painters who use acrylics for
health and safety reasons, will all enjoy the benefits.
If you would like to participate
in trying out the paint, please bring your brushes, water container
and some paper. We would appreciate it if you could get some
newspaper or plastic to protect the tables from spills. Chroma
will supply the paint and the mediums.

Profile
of the Month |
Born in Greece, Anastasia
Saltabida lives and works in the Bay area. She has experimented
with different media and styles such as Asian brush painting,
watercolors, acrylics and oil. With her paintings, Anastasia
tries to reflect not only what she sees but also what she feels.
Her goal is to communicate to the viewer her love for flowers
and nature. Her inspiration comes from the great Californian
landscapes or her beloved homeland, Greece. Anastasia has degrees
in mathematics and Computer Science and has been working for
over 20 years in the areas of computer networks and other related
technologies. In her latest series, "Modern Life",
she attempts to reflect her personal journey through technology
and how technology is changing our lives! To
view more of her paintings, please visit www.natassasart.com.
We thank Anastasia for all her volunteerism
with FALC during the annual show and general meetings where
she cheerfully dives in to fill the gaps wherever help is needed.
