To participate in FALC sponsored shows and exhibits, one must be juried in as a exhibiting member. Artists who have submitted 3 pieces of original art which meet with the approval and acceptance of the voting members will be awarded "Exhibiting Membership". Jurying in will take place at most meetings.

Membership for continuing members is $30.00 per year, January through December.

Revised membership fees will be effective for the memberships starting from June 1, 2016.

$45 - full year membership

$25 - half year membership.

Membership fees are due for the year 2016-2017.

Paint-In: Please join us for our most enjoyable yearly event! It has been a FALC tradition for several years to come together and paint Holiday posters which will be donated to the Pleasant View Convalescent home in Cupertino. If you are shy about painting with a group, please join us anyway. We would appreciate the opportunity to talk and get to know one another.

Please join us in celebrating the Holidays! Bring your watercolor or quick drying acrylic paint, brushes and palette. No oil paints. Paper will be provided. You could choose to paint a simple secular holiday picture of your choice. We have designs that you can pick from to paint. Theme required : 6 Posters on Christmas theme and rest on Spring or general Holiday theme.

Optional: Please bring a small wrapped gift (approx. $10) for the patients at the Convalescent Home who may not have relatives visiting them during the holidays. Please mark if it is for a male or female. No liquids, lotions or perishable goods please. Suggested gifts are gloves, scarves, socks etc.

Optional: Please bring a snack or food to share at the pot-luck.

Book Description: Ghosts - Images of War uses uniquely designed images of the past and present combined to take you on a haunted ride through history. By expertly superimposing and digitally manipulating historical images of the past with photos of the present, Ghosts connects the spirit and people of history to the present day world. Almost as if you’ve traveled to the past, or the past has been transported to the present, the images evoke nostalgia, sadness, reflection, and hope. Battles and monuments included range from Valley Forge to the Beaches of Normandy. After visiting concentration camps in Poland in 2008, viewing monuments and ruins filled with tragedy and despair, author Carrie Zeidman came home with unrelenting visions of the people who once occupied these spaces and whose lives were cut short. Searching out authentic photos from the Holocaust and combining them with images from her personal travels, she realized she could mesh the old and the new, contrasting the heartbreaking past with a hopeful present to create these unique images.

About the Author: Carrie Zeidman is a digital artist and photographer whose passions are photography, art, travel, and history, all of which are found in Ghosts. She is a tenth generation Californian and a fourteenth generation American. Many years of researching her extensive family history, traveling to historic battle grounds, and creating her unique art all come together in her first book. Her paintings start with a mood, an emotion, or a memory of some kind. Using color and figure, she finds a way to transfer that mood, emotion, or memory onto the two-dimensional surface of the painting. When finished, a successful piece is able to evoke the original feeling in the viewer. Carrie has won several awards for her work, including being named Cupertino Distinguished Artist of the Year in 2012. Her work has been represented in galleries, and her painting Freedom Rises in the East is in the permanent collection of the Mauermuseum at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, Germany. She lives in Cupertino, California with her husband Bob, who is also an author of several books. She lives on a mountain top that affords her a different breathtaking view of the sunrise over the Santa Clara Valley every morning, providing endless artistic inspiration.

A Testimony of Beauty

The art exhibit “A Testimony of Beauty “ will be on display at the Los Altos Hills Town Hall from September 16, 2016, to March 2017. The artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, September 24, from 2:00 pm to 5pm at Town Hall. The reception is free, and will feature live music, refreshments and wine. “Down To Earth”

is the theme behind the new Gallery House exhibition of paintings by Sandra Cochran and Kevyn Warnock. This show features Kevyn's view of the lands and waters of California's coast side while Sandra explores the people who inhabit the area. The exhibition will run from October 18th until November 12th, 2016. A public reception is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 320 S. California Ave, Palo Alto.
