Saswatee Chatterjee
Saswatee Kashyap Chatterjee is a visual artist based in the Bay Area, working across watercolor, oil, acrylic, and mixed media. Her art is deeply rooted in the natural world by drawing inspiration from scenic landscapes, subtle shifts in mood, and the quiet, poetic presence of nature. Each piece of her artwork is a reflection of her thoughts, memories, and personal experiences, often shaped by her cultural upbringing and her ever-evolving connection to her surroundings.
Saswatees work explores the inner landscapes of emotion and memory, using color, composition, and brushwork as expressive tools to share internal moments outwardly. Her paintings invite viewers into a contemplative space, offering stories that are both intimate and universal. Whether working on paper or canvas, her process is intuitive and layered, blending traditional techniques with personal symbolism. Her art continues to evolve as she explores new media and deepens her connection to the natural world.
Saswatees work has been exhibited across the Bay Area, including solo exhibitions at Mohr Gallery, Mountain View (August 2025), and the Silicon Valley Open Studios (May 2025). Her paintings have also been showcased at the Sobrato Gallery (CSMA, Mountain View, 2024), Mountain View City Art Shows, and ICC in Milpitas. Her work was featured in The Silicon Valley Voice (August 15, 2025), and she was invited by Meta/Facebook to contribute to their Creator Series discussion, representing the artist community in November 2023. Saswatee has been an Art educator for more than a decade and believes in nurturing creativity through hands-on exploration, thoughtful critique, and a love for visual storytelling. Beyond exhibitions, Saswatee is the founder of ArtbySaswatee, a growing art brand that shares creative expression through original works & merchandise and thereby reaching thousands and inspiring joy. She also leads community workshops across age groups, using art as a tool to foster creativity, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing.
