Self-taught artist, Momoko, is known for her signature abstract art in which she named, LineScaping. The works made of repetitive lines appear mind bogglingly three dimensional when they are actually flat. All lines are drawn freehand one by one, unlike one may suspect it is computer assisted. In 2005, her LineScaping quest began in a simple format with pen drawing on small papers, and over the years it had evolved not only to a larger scale but also in different colors as well as other design innovations that added different feels to the series.
Currently in a flexible hiatus as an artist, Momoko has been creating abstract art made of lines since 2005, as well as other styles of abstract art, such as mixed media collage. Originally born in Japan, she moved to the States in 1992, and has been in the Bay Area since 2009. In these strange out-of-pandemic days, she extends her hobby skills to sewing and wood works whenever the time allows her.
