Susan grew up in a small town in Utah, where she developed into womanhood during the Regan years. Later, she raised her kids in a two mom home, in Oklahoma (from the frying pan to the fire). she has since then been promoted to grandma Now, she is embarking on her own journey in photography. She serves on the board of WORKS San Jose, a local art gallery, and is the art director for Wheelhouse of Willow Glen. She has won multiple awards for her work, including two first place series in the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, image of the year from a camera club, and artist of the month from a local artist collective. She has shown her work in galleries both nationally and internationally, including juried and non juried exhibitions. Her portfolio is composed of an eclectic array of subjects, from the weathered elegance of rusted cars to the timeless beauty of women. Her 2021 series COVIDs END, explores the unexpected silver linings of living during a global pandemic and documents the connections forged in the crucible of adversity. La Vue, examines womens intricate relationships with self and beauty, offering a glimpse into the often-complex interplay between self-perception and societal expectations. Susan ventured into the varying landscapes of rural Utah, employing the magic of long exposure and light painting to breathe fresh life into long forgotten cars and trucks that sit rusting in fields and pastures, for her series Out to Pasture. And she attempts to transport viewers to the vibrant streets of France, New York, and San Francisco, in Its a Total Street Show. This series serves as a magical passport, offering a front-row seat to the captivating and diverse tapestries of urban life in these iconic locales. As her photographic journey unfolds, and she continues to evolve from a novice to an experienced artist, she remains dedicated to the pursuit of transforming the commonplace into indelible memories. She hopes to create visual narratives that transcend the present, ensuring their resonance with generations yet to come. Her work is a testament to her passion for the art form, where the beauty of the mundane is immortalized, and the essence of life is celebrated with profound authenticity.
